'Cutting out coffee was hard - I love my coffee! I started replacing every other ![]()
cup with green tea or a cold drink, and tried not to touch coffee after mid afternoon. I slept better at night, which pushed me to cut it down to just 2 cups in the morning. I didn't get any headaches or side effects because I cut it out slowly. Now I can enjoy one cup of coffee in the morning and it feels like a treat again!' Hannah, 46
'I have to say I feel cleansed. Cutting the junk out of my diet has made me feel sane for the first time in ages. I used to come home and grab whatever fell out of the kitchen cupboards - I was ravenous! Now I don't get any cravings for sugar or salt and I can actually go for a few hours without feeling the desperate need to eat.' Phil, 41
'. Don't get me wrong, I still drink alcohol. The difference is that I know when to stop now. I'll have a glass with an evening meal but I always drink plenty of water each day to stay well hydrated. I've worked hard on my fitness and I can see that I get better results when I cut the alcohol down. I guess drinking was a habit' John, 48
'Once you start reading each stage of this Program you realise how easy it is to understand the basics of nutrition. Following the advice given has been hard at times, with travelling and eating out, but I now know what I should be eating, when and how much. The extra tips in this section have really helped me keep a good grip on my eating habits. I've lost over a stone since I started this Program!' Peter, 53
I haven't managed to get the chocolate milk just yet, but am grabbing a handful of nuts on the way home with plenty of water, which staves off the pangs of hunger until dinner. Andy, 34
Eating wise - all going well during the week. It's the weekend that is hard. I was given last minute tickets to the rugby on Saturday, then met up with friends for a drink afterwards. Ended up in the curry house - but have managed to change my habits there so that I have a mixed grill (rather than 'saucy' curry) and rice OR bread rather than both from my 'previous life'. I just need to make sure that,
as you say, the day afterwards I am fully back on track. So far I do seem to manage that. John, 43
Thanks for the supportive email! . the meal plan has helped thank you.
Sue, 41
I've really enjoyed this week and got a lot out of it. Thanks for the eating plan. Much appreciated. Celia, 43
'Finding time to relax and recharge my batteries has always been a full time job. Expecting me to change my current lifestyle was a lot to ask! I've taken your advice onboard though. I've tried to get to bed earlier. and I've learned to say no to more things, to free up my spare time. I've still got a long way to go but I know the actions I'm taking are damage limitation. Thanks for steering me in the right direction' David, 49
'I found the Lifestyle section of this plan really useful. I simply read the sections that were relevant to my daily life and tried to make changes where they were necessary. It was surprising how much I learnt about things I thought I already knew! Jane, 39
'Stress has always been my problem. Taking the stress section of the Lifestyle Program and reading through the advice given has made me think about how I can make change for the better and improve my daily lifestyle so that I don't keep blowing my top! I'd like to think that I am now a bit more relaxed. Steve, 42
'The beauty of this part of the Program is that all I had to do was open up the file and pick out the tips and info that I needed to make a few key changes. The tips section provided with each topic gave me a quick overview of how I could change things, rather than just telling me that I needed to. Luckily I don't need advice on all 16 topics!'
