The Fitstreet Rules of Exercise
3 focused training sessions per week will maximize your chances of making positive gains.
For the goals of this Program, fat loss and greater fitness, we do not advise you ![]()
to practice any further resistance work between sessions. Firstly you will not be giving your body adequate rest from intense exercise, and secondly
unsupervised weight training, especially using a stability ball as a bench,
carries greater risk of injury.
Remember: It's between training sessions, not during them that you make positive gains.
If you want maximum results with this program you will need adequate rest time. On days between your training sessions simply keep a focus on your eating plan, drink enough water, get adequate sleep at night, and if you work, try and find time for relaxation in the evening. If you want to burn some energy go for a brisk walk. Nothing more!
Always practice your stretches and core exercises between training sessions.
Having just told you to rest your body between sessions, it is perfectly acceptable to practice these protocols, as they bring balance to the body rather than increase strain. Find 5 or 10 minutes each day to relax and perform your short routine. You can all find the time if you want to - while watching TV, listening to some music or just before you hop into the shower. By achieving this task you will come to each session revitalised and a little stronger.
Do not push yourself too far too soon - resist the urge to do more cardio.
Crazy as it may sound to some of you, there will be a certain element among you that feel they need to train 6 days a week to get maximum results and extra fat loss. There's no need and it's not good at this stage. Excess cardio activity burns muscle. Having worked so hard during this program to earn healthy lean muscle, why would you want to risk losing it? The more lean tissue you own, the higher your metabolism will be, and the greater chance you have of burning fat, while you rest. Cardio needs to be practiced in moderation at this stage. As we mentioned above, the most you should do is stretch your legs by going for a brisk walk.
