Give the cardio equipment in your gym a well deserved rest and use your
bodyweight instead.
Flash cardio machines aren't the only way to do cardio and lose body fat you know.
Bodyweight exercises are a fantastic 'total body' interval cardio circuit workout.
They will elevate your metabolism, keep your heart rate soaring and help you burn hundreds of calories, long after you've showered, changed and got on with the rest of your day.
What's more, they build muscle and strength too, so you'll benefit from calories burned during AND after exercise. You can't lose!
For a great circuit, keep things simple.
Pick 2 lower body exercises, 2 upper body exercises and 2 total body exercises that you can do with just your bodyweight.
Then alternate between each one, aiming for 10 reps per exercise.
Don't rest between exercises for maximum effect.
At the end of the circuit, rest 30 seconds and then repeat the circuit again, up to 4 times.
You'll be done in less than 20 minutes!
Try this circuit for size:
Bodyweight Squat (hands held behind head) 10 reps
Push up 10 reps
Jump Jack (Star Jump) 10 reps
Lunge 10 reps (each leg)
Push Up 10 reps
Wall Climbers 10 reps (each leg)
If you want to try this circuit but are unsure of any of the techniques, ask me at your next session.
Enjoy!
