Make today a better day than yesterday

We all have busy lives. Sometimes we don't get a chance to eat enough, sometimes we have no time to exercise. Other times we don't get to do either. Sometimes these situations can't be helped. The key is to try and do better today than you did yesterday. After all, there's nothing you can do about yesterday now.

If you went without snacks yesterday, make sure today is a good day. If you had very little vegetables yesterday then make sure that today you put things right. Protein at only two of your meals yesterday? Aim for 3 today, and so on. Instead of prolonging your mistakes, look for ways to fix them.

If you skipped exercise yesterday then make a concerted effort to do some today, even if it's only 10 minutes, split into 3 or 4 segments throughout the day. You have a whole variety of bodyweight exercises at your disposal that require no equipment and maybe not even a change into your gym kit.Try calf raises at the kitchen counter, push ups against the dining room table or walking lunges to the bathroom!

Whoever said that exercise always has to be an hour of continuous effort? Take me as an example. Today I didn't stop - clients back to back and no time to work out. No problem! I got home, did a couple of sets of push ups as I waited for my soup to boil, then a couple of sets of Jumping Jacks before 'jumping' into the shower. 2-3 minutes of work in total and a metabolic lift to boot!
